Lucky Friday is a personal budgeting app built for real life. It helps you track what you own, what you owe, and where your money goes. You can connect your bank and other financial accounts, set flexible budgets, watch your net worth grow, and customize your spending categories with your own icons and colors. Available on iOS and web.
Download Lucky Friday from the App Store or sign up at www.luckyfridayapp.com for the web version. Create your account, connect your bank through Plaid, and set up your first budget. The whole process takes about 5 minutes. Your data syncs automatically between iOS and web.
No. You can use Lucky Friday without connecting a bank account. You will need to add transactions manually, but every other feature works the same way. Most people connect their bank because it saves hours of manual entry each month.
Not yet. Lucky Friday is currently available on iOS and the web. The web app works on any device with a browser including Android phones and tablets. A native Android app is on the roadmap.
Lucky Friday has a permanent free tier with core budgeting features. The paid plan is $12.99 per month or $99.99 per year. You can upgrade or cancel at any time.
Lucky Friday uses Plaid to securely connect to your financial accounts. Plaid is the same technology trusted by Venmo, Robinhood, Chime, and thousands of other apps. Your login credentials are never stored by Lucky Friday.
Plaid supports over 12,000 financial institutions in the US including all major banks, credit unions, credit cards, investment accounts, and loan providers. If your bank is on Plaid, it works with Lucky Friday.
Transactions sync automatically every time you log in. Most transactions appear within a few minutes, though the exact timing depends on when your bank releases them to Plaid.
Yes. You can add a manual transaction any time. This is helpful for cash purchases, for accounts you haven't connected, or for anything your bank hasn't synced yet.
Yes. Every transaction is fully editable. You can change the category, amount, date, merchant name, or notes. You can also delete transactions you don't want in your records.
Bank connections sometimes need to be re-authenticated. This is normal and usually happens after a password change or bank security update. Lucky Friday will let you know when a reconnection is needed and walk you through it in a few taps.
You set a spending limit for each category you want to track. Transactions get auto-categorized as they come in, and you can see your progress against each budget at a glance. Budgets can be monthly or annual, and you can override any month's budget without changing the baseline.
Yes. Unlimited custom categories and subcategories. Pick your own icons and colors so your budget looks and feels like yours. This is one of the things Lucky Friday does differently from most budgeting apps.
Yes. Whether you get paid biweekly, monthly, or unpredictably, Lucky Friday adapts to your actual income flow. You don't have to fit yourself into rigid zero-based budgeting rules if that's not how your money works.
Net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe. Lucky Friday tracks your connected bank accounts, credit cards, investment accounts, and loan balances so you always see the full picture of your finances in one place.
Yes. Write your own rules so transactions from specific merchants or matching certain keywords always go to the category you choose. Rules are unlimited on every tier including free.
Yes. Lucky Friday uses industry-standard encryption and secure connections through trusted providers like Plaid. Your login credentials for your bank are never stored by Lucky Friday, and you can disconnect any account or delete your data at any time.
No. Lucky Friday does not sell your data. This is a small, human-built product, not an ad-funded service. Your financial information stays between you and the app.
No. Lucky Friday does not feed your financial data to AI models. Categorization is rule-based, budgets are what you set them to, and no algorithm is quietly making judgments about your spending. This is a deliberate choice.
You can cancel any time from within the app. On iOS, manage your subscription through the App Store Settings. On the web, you can cancel from the account settings page. Your free tier access continues after cancellation.
Go to Settings and tap Delete Account. This removes all your data permanently. There is no hidden holding period and nothing is sold or shared after deletion.
If you cancel your paid subscription, your data stays in your free account and nothing is deleted. If you delete your account entirely, all data is permanently removed.
